By default we just ignored any localhost reolvers, this is problematic
for anyone with more complicated dns setups, i.e. split dns with
systemd-reolved. To address this we now make use of the build in dns
proxy in pasta. As such we need to set the default nameserver ip now.
A second change is the option to exclude certain ips when generating the
host.containers.internal ip. With that we no longer set it to the same
ip as is used in the netns. The fix is not perfect as it could mean on a
system with a single ip we no longer add the entry, however given the
previous entry was incorrect anyway this seems like the better behavior.

This vendors the latest c/common version, including making Pasta
the default rootless network provider. That broke a number of
tests, which have been fixed as part of this PR.
Also includes a change to network stats logic, which simplifies
the code a bit and makes it actually work with Pasta.

Followup to #20797 (defer assertion failures). The bail-now()
helper was being defined only in setup() ... and some tests,
particularly 001-basic.bats, define their own minimalist setup().
Symptom was "bail-now: command not found", which still caused
test to fail (so no failures were hidden) but led to concern
and wasted time when analyzing failures.
Solution: add one more definition of bail-now(), in outer scope.
There is still one pathological case I'm not addressing: a
bats file that defines its own teardown() which does not invoke
basic_teardown(), then has a test that runs defer-assertion-failures
without a followup immediate-assertion-failures. This would lead
to failures that are never seen. Since teardown() without basic_teardown()
is invalid, I choose not to worry about this case.

This is something I've long wanted in logs: an indicator of
which bats file the test lives in. As of v1.7.0 there is
now a way to do that, BATS_TEST_NAME_PREFIX. Use it. Logs
now look like:
ok 14 [001] podman - shutdown engines
ok 15 [005] podman info - basic test
...
not ok 195 [065] podman cp - dot notation ....
(As a bonus, we can remove the super-long "test blah blah pasta"
duplication from 505.bats).
Also, removed no-longer-necessary (fingers crossed) debug code
for the recently fixed containers-storage umount/EINVAL flake.

Under some circumstances BATS tests hang, causing a CI timeout.
One prominent reason is pasta test failures: BATS will not
exit until all child processes are finished, and in some
environments the socat client can stay forever.
Workaround: run socat with a timeout, and with limited retries.
Tested on an f38 system with broken IPv6: without this fix,
bats hangs until I ^C. With this fix, bats exits as it should.

Also, this is important, requires crun-1.9.1 because of a kernel

The VM images here were carefully built to include that. By the
time the next VM images get built, it should be default.

IPv6 test has been hard-skipped for six months.
IPv4 test is flaking in Cirrus and hard-failing in Gating.
Absent a reliable way to test in CI and gating, and absent
a strong reason to test ICMP in pasta anyway, the solution
is simple.

For pods with bridged and slirp4netns networking we create /etc/hosts
entries to make it more convenient for the containers to address each
other. We omitted to do this for pasta networking, however. Add the
necessary code to do this.

Confirm that pasta test name agrees with the test being run.
This is a development-time-only check, it must never fail
beyond CI. The idea is to prevent something like

The original e33f4e0bc7 "pasta: Use two connections instead of three
in TCP range forward tests" was a workaround to avoid intermittent
errors in CI where the pasta networking port range forwarding tests
would fail. It was reverted and unreverted when we thought we'd fixed
the problem, but that turned out not to be the case.
We're now much more confident that we've genuinely found and fixed (or
at least, worked around) the underlying problem, so we revert it again.

With a number of the port range forwarding tests, we've seen occasional
failures where the sending socat fails with an EINTR on connect(). This
was mitigated by e33f4e0bc7 "pasta: Use two connections instead of three
in TCP range forward tests" (which has been reverted and un-reverted
several times). However, this did not eliminate the problem, for example
see [0].
For the failing tests we are using the socat address "EXEC:printf x" to
make socat invoke printf(1) to generate a single byte of data to transfer.
Closer analysis shows that the SIGCHLD as the printf process ends is
occasionally intersecting with the connect() call causing this failure.
This is arguably a bug in socat, to not handle this race one way or
another. However, we can easily workaround the problem by using a
temporary file with the data to transfer, rather than invoking printf every
time. Do this, to avoid the flakiness of these tests.

https://github.com/containers/podman/pull/19021 fixed bugs with the pasta
networking tests not working on hosts with multiple interfaces. Alas, the
patch left in some stale code that generates spurious error messages for
the IPv6 case. This is sort of harmless - later code overrides what's done
here and the tests can pass anyway. However if a test fails for some other
reason it means we get a misleading irrelevant error message.

At various points the pasta bats tests need to know the name of the
interface that pasta will use by default, and the host addresses it will
use by default. Currently we use the pre-existing helper functions
ether_get_name and ipv[46]_get_addr_global to retreive that.
However, those just pick the first non-loopback interface or address, which
may not be the one that pasta uses if there are multiple connected host
interfaces.
Replace those helpers with local ones which examine the routing table to
more closely match pasta's internal logic about which interface to select.
This allows the tests to run successfully on a host with multiple
interfaces.

The code was moved to c/common so use that instead. Also add tests for
the new pasta_options config field. However there is one outstanding
problem[1]: pasta rejects most options when set more than once. Thus it is
impossible to overwrite most of them on the cli. If we cannot fix this
in pasta I need to make further changes in c/common to dedup the
options.

This case is fixed by passt commit bad252687271 ("conf, udp: Allow
any loopback address to be used as resolver") and the fix is now
available in packages included by the CI images.
Note that, depending on the resolver on the host, we might get
1.0.0.127.in-addr.arpa resolved to localhost, or simply NXDOMAIN for
it: accept a failure on the nslookup command, as long as we have a
response for 1.0.0.127.in-addr.arpa in the output. If we have any
response, that means we could talk to the resolver.

A horrible timeout-flake exists in the version presently in CI VM images
`c20230221t162829z-f37f36d12`. Since the PR for adding the 2023-02-21
images is more urgently needed (#17305) than a pasta fix, skip all pasta
tests while waiting for a fix.

Similarly to the ICMP test for IPv4, I broke the command line on a
rebase of the initial test import.
Note that, unless we pass an IPv6 resolver directly to pasta, Podman
won't add one to /etc/resolv.conf in the container. We could pass
that explicitly, but then end up hitting the same issue as the one
described in the "Local forwarder, IPv6" case. Skip this test for
the moment being.

For some reason I couldn't figure out yet, on CI systems running
Fedora 37, tests for TCP port forwarding with ranges fail on the
third connection, as connect() from the socat client gets
interrupted -- and socat doesn't handle this.
Mitigate this by connecting twice, to two different ports, instead of
using three ports.

These tests should cover all the basic networking functionality with
pasta(1). Namely, they check:
- IPv4 and IPv6 addressing and routing settings
- TCP and UDP port forwarding over IPv4 and IPv6
- data transfers and ICMP/ICMPv6 echo requests
- the (exceedingly simple) lifecycle handling
These tests need some new helpers, to obtain IPv4 and IPv4 addresses
and routes, as well as MTU and interface names. Those use jq(1) for
parsing.
Some availability checks are implemented as well, to skip tests if
pasta(1) is not available, or if IPv4 and IPv6 are not usable.
To get consistent outcomes across distributions, and to enable
uncomplicated termination for UDP tests based on zero-sized packets,
use socat(1), which, unlike netcat, doesn't suffer from option
inconsistencies depending on flavours (traditional, BSD, NMAP) and
versions.
