The backslash in front of the backtick fixes the syntax highlighting when editing the file on GitHub. Adding a non-breaking space after the example prompts is necessary to leave enough space between the prompt and the following parenthesis. In effect, there is a gray space (from the prompt) and a smaller white space (following common typography rules). |
