Fixes #6740 \#6711 removed the usage of unnecessary reference variables in the proxy template, as they are not needed. Their definations were left as there were race conditions with extension installs. As `2.11` was released with that change, Now its a good time to remove the definations too as no usages should be present from a `2.11` upgrade.
