Prevents alignment issues when people create a typed array from a buffer.
Unaligned loads or stores are less efficent and (on some architectures) unsafe.

To build:

Unix/Macintosh (requires python 2.6 or 2.7):

./configure
make
make install

Windows:

vcbuild.bat

To run the tests:

make test
