# File ## File Attributes Describes file attributes. | Attribute | Type | Description | Examples | Stability | | ---------------- | ------ | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------- | | `file.directory` | string | Directory where the file is located. It should include the drive letter, when appropriate. | `/home/user`; `C:\Program Files\MyApp` |  | | `file.extension` | string | File extension, excluding the leading dot.
